How to Play Block Blast
Block Blast is played by dragging one of three available block shapes onto an 8×8 grid and clearing full rows or columns. Each turn presents exactly three shapes at the bottom of the board — all three must be placed before the next set appears, and none of them can be rotated, so their shape at the moment they’re offered is the shape that has to fit.
A row or column clears the instant it fills completely, regardless of which piece completes it. Placing a piece adds one point per cell placed, and each row or column cleared adds a fixed line-clear bonus — clearing multiple lines in one placement adds each line's bonus rather than multiplying the total, and placing a clearing move right after another one adds this browser build's combo bonus on top.
The board has no timer. A turn ends only when a piece is placed — not when time runs out — so every placement can be planned against the two pieces still waiting alongside it.

1Three block shapes appear at the bottom of the grid.
2Each shape is dragged onto the 8×8 board in any open position that fits its exact outline.
3Any row or column that fills completely clears immediately.
4Once all three shapes are placed, a new set of three appears — repeat until no remaining shape fits anywhere on the board.
The game ends the moment none of the remaining current pieces can be placed anywhere on the board — not when a single bad move happens, but when every option is exhausted at once.
What Does This Browser Version Include?
This browser build is open-ended: there is no level structure and no fixed objective. The board continues until none of the remaining current pieces fits anywhere, and the goal is simply the highest score reached before that happens.
This page does not reproduce every feature of Hungry Studio's official app. If the official app offers additional modes or level structures, those are not part of this browser build and are not represented on this board.

Quick Tips to Raise Your Score
These are heuristics, not guaranteed outcomes — they describe patterns that tend to keep a board playable longer, not a fixed score target:
Clear more than one line per placement.
Each line cleared adds its own line-clear bonus, so a placement that finishes two lines at once is worth more than a placement that finishes only one — the bonuses add up rather than multiply.
Leave the center open.
The middle of the grid accepts the widest range of shapes; filling it early removes options for every large piece that follows.
Read all three pieces before placing the first one.
Since all three must land somewhere this turn, the first placement should account for where the second and third still need to go.
Avoid isolated single-square gaps.
An isolated single-cell gap can only be filled by a one-cell piece, so creating one reduces placement flexibility until a matching piece is offered.
